Intro // Creativity, the Arts, & You

| My love for corgi puppies is on par with my love for the arts. |
Hi! I'm Meg, from Louisville, Kentucky, and I am a senior Photography & DAT (Design, Arts, Technology) major with a minor in art history at Bellarmine University. I have a passion for photography, and also enjoy music, movies, and dogs. I have always wanted to go to England, so I figured this would be a perfect opportunity! I'm very excited to be taking a ton of photos and learning about art. I'm really looking forward to this class because I know we will be visiting a ton of interesting places around London and I want to see as much of the city as I can. I'm hoping I won't spend a bunch of money while I'm over there and while I'm not crazy about theatre, I'm really looking forward to experiencing the culture of England. While I don't really have much of a bucket list, I'm definitely looking forward to visiting museums and art galleries, going to pub, and visiting Highgate Cemetery.

I am very passionate about the arts -- my medium is digital photography, although I have used 35mm film as well as alternative processes of photography in the past. I love photoshop as well, and am slowly but surely more familiarizing myself with Illustrator as well as learning how to do video. I also dabble in piano -- while I took lessons for about 12 years, I have gotten a fairly rusty but hope to return to that soon. I absolutely love going to concerts and visiting galleries and museums; my favorite forms of art are typically paintings and photographs. My favorite artists are Richard Avedon, Cindy Sherman, Annie Leibovitz, Tim Walker, Vincent Van Gogh, and Japanese composer Joe Hisaishi (although my favorite band of all time is My Chemical Romance). I definitely am interested in learning more about art history and how art has influenced other artists through the years -- by learning more about artists, I feel that I can better myself as an artist as well.
